Council’s Area Action Plan deadline announced. What are they planning for Brid? 0

It was announced this week, that the deadline for Bridlington to tell planners if their future plans for the town are what the people want is Monday 29th November.

The East Riding of Yorkshire council has published it’s final Area Action Plan (AAP), which are the plans for Bridlington over the next 11 years, until 2021. They are enabling residents to give  their views on the proposed changes and see whether they are heading in the righ direction.

The main elements for the AAP are:

  • The marina and regeneration of the harbour, improving its facilities and creating better links to the town centre.
  • Planning for new retail, housing and small business space designed to renew the area between the railway station and the harbour.
  • Public realm improvements to the town centre and seafront to improve its year round useability.
  •  Traffic movement and parking strategy to improve access to the town centre, ease congestion and movement around the town.
